The problem
Most motorised gates come off in under a minute.
A standard sliding gate sits on its track under its own weight. Two people can lift it, walk it off the rail and put it down on the pavement — and now your driveway is open and your motor is worth something to somebody.
The same is true of a lot of security gates and burglar bars. The steel is fine. The fixing is the weak point: a hinge that lifts off its pin, a lock-side frame with a gap wide enough to get a bar into, a bracket held by two tacks.
None of this is expensive to fix. It is just almost never done, because nobody comes out on a Saturday to do it.

On pricing
We do not publish prices, and here is why.
Steel moves. The price of a length of tube is not the same this month as it was last month, and stainless moves harder than mild. Anyone quoting you a fixed price off a website is either padding it heavily or about to revise it.
More to the point, no two of these jobs are the same. Two gates on the same street can need completely different work depending on how they were installed.
So we come and look, then we quote in writing for your job. The assessment costs you nothing but a Saturday morning.
